Make Your Life Yours!

Do you ever think about your life and your successes, and perhaps dwell that you can do so much better? You think that you want to do something different while you are at work, and perhaps get motivational energy flow through you. You then tell yourself that as soon as you get home, you will plan you goal out. However as soon as you get home, you lose all of that motivation and do nothing, and repeat the same pattern the next day.

As we are our own worst critics, we tend to automatically often compare ourselves to others. We see people living lives that we desire, and feel envious. You think to yourself that why you can’t accomplish that. Perhaps you do start to plan your ideal life, but do not know where to start. However it may get overwhelming, promoting you to stop planning. Even if you do have something planned and are working towards it, however you feel that there is little progress made.

With this sense of overwhelming sensation, it can have people experience depression and anxiety. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to reach the goals of living in a way that society tells us how to live. We live in a world where society has high expectations of us. Right now society is telling residents to put themselves in thousands of dollars in debt to pay off a car that is not always reliable, a house that we don’t like or can’t afford, to have kids that we didn’t think about having, and perhaps getting a college degree that we were pressured in pursuing.

Society is ever changing. We cannot predict the future, but we can step in and work towards a life that best suit us without following what society tells us. How daring right? Is it possible? The answer is of course. It’s a matter of how willing you are to work towards it and the degree of the drive you have to achieve your goals. Life does not need to be lived in one way. There are many paths we can take; all we need to do is figure out what path is best for us.

The first step is to find out what ignites a spark in you. It is videography, painting, conducting workshops, yoga? There are endless possibilities. If you are unsure of your interests, discover them by participating in affordable workshops and activities in your community. Attending to events and classes have the opportunity to inspire us and help us discover what we enjoy.

Usually we tend to like the things that we are good at and stay away from things that we are not. It takes time to get good at things, and years to master. Trying new things will always have challenges. Don’t let the challenges discourage you. Do you like the concept of the activity and does it make sense to who you are? Do you still enjoy it even when it’s challenging at first? Go ahead and keep on trying if you think yes!

Next, do your research if you want to make your hobby your occupation. Do you want to own a bake shop, become a ski instructor or create and sell pottery? If you don’t want to make your hobby into your occupation, practice your hobby often to help keep your spark alive. When you get home from work, don’t sit on the couch until the night is over. Practice what you love. Build a community of members who have the same interest, such as hosting a book club, hosting crochet nights or volunteer at a pet clinic. Do what you love and always be inspired.

If you do have a desire to make your hobby into your occupation, connect with people in the same business and learn from them. Research how to start up your business, how to gather cliental if you need some, learn what tools you need and so forth. As we have the power of the internet, also use the power of human interaction. We are in a great time where we can be creative and learn from others.

Take advantage of the entrepreneur workshops offered in your community to help learn how to kick start and grow your business. If there are no workshops like this in your community, see if communities near you have them. There are various resources that is available that can be used to help you thrive.

If you are worried to start up or to take the first step, talk to a trusted professional about your business to help you get motivated and take accountability of your movement towards your goal.

It is never too late to start you dream life. Small steps are still big steps!
